I was struck by the light bouncing off the back of this statue and creating patterns from the surrounding trees. I also liked the angle I was viewing him from. I had to try him in watercolor. This was the result.

    • This statue oxidizes as a greenish color and I chose to bring him about in a blue and shade with violets, so my choice of colors did not really go far from what he looks like. I had a teacher who said the wonderful joy of an artist is that we can choose to make our subject any color we wish! I loved that! Thank you, Zeinab!

  2. Def use whatever color you wish. It’s one of the golden rules.
